Show Works was brought on board to the production of It’s True, It’s True, It’s True by Breach Theatre in 2020.
The show was filmed inside the iconic Stone Nest on London’s Shaftesbury Avenue with a few small audiences.
Show Works accommodated ‘sound support’ for the live aspect of the show, whilst it was pre recorded for viewing on BBC 4.
The Set Up
Show Works provided foldback for the cast as well as handheld radio microphones (being used as both props and in recording), as well as a Dante link to the TV sound crew.
Being recorded with hairline microphones, foldback had to kept to a minimum, for this reason, 2 x EM Acoustics EMS-51 speakers were deployed either side of the stage. No FOH PA was implemented for the (small) live audiences to further isolate sound in the space.
3 Sennheiser EW300 G3 handheld radio microphones were also used, mainly for props in the show, however were also recorded just in case the sound design called for a different texture.
With the film crew being ‘remoted’, Show Works used Dante to send the signal of these microphones to the TV studio located in the basement from the sound desk located in the auditorium.
Show Works used Cisco Network switches and Audinate AVIO adapters to distribute the separate signals in the TV Studio.
